And no, this spelling is neither a typo nor coincidence. This is about why you should not only love yourself, but especially love your beautiful, honest, strong and independent Self. Exactly the way you are – just being you.

People seem to forget that there is more to life than dedicating yourself completely to your job, someone else, or whatever it might be. In today’s times of rapid change, it is more important – but also more difficult – than ever to just stop for a minute.

Everything is moving so fast; how could we capture a moment and make it just ours to enjoy?

Well, there is more than one way to do it:

Integrating Meditation into your everyday-life

My first thought about Meditation was: It can’t be done. Not me! How should I ever find the time to regularly clear my mind, just sitting there and doing… nothing?

But the answer is as simple as that! Just take it. It’s your life and you must shape it. So instead of sleeping in, set your alarm clock and awaken your inner Self. Just 5 minutes of calm and controlled breathing in an upright posture will do wonders in starting your day.

Some people *pointing at myself* find it hard to keep up with new routines, so find someone who could join you. You can ask your boyfriend, best friend, or a family member; trust me, they will all thank you for this! Apps like Headspace, The Mindfulness App, Calm and many more are among the best Meditation Apps around (read more about it here). Just launch one of them on your Phone and you’ll get daily reminders to not forget your new routine – for a mindful, powerful you.

We’re not here forever—keep that in mind!

I remind myself of this over and over again—and it helps.

Look, there are times where things are going FABULOUS and I’m on top of the world.

And then there are times where I feel completely overwhelmed, stressed-out and would rather throw myself on the bed crying than do a damn thing for the rest of the day.

But then, I have to ask myself: Why am I even in this situation? Is this where I want to be: ballin’ out of control?

What could I do to change this? In finding answers, I really do calm down.

Remember, you don’t have to be in any situation that’s not right for you: Life is too short to waste being uncomfortable or unhappy with your choices. Whenever things are uncertain and you feel frustrated, close your eyes and take a few really, really, deep breaths.

You are responsible for your own happiness. No one else. You.

Sometimes, Chocolate Chip Cookies Are All It Takes

Yes! After a long and exhausting day, I really look forward to spending some time in the kitchen, cooking or baking – sometimes both. I find relaxation in folding little chocolate chips into soft, caramel-ish cookie dough, and watching them bake slowly. Then, still warm and soft, I dip them into cold milk. D-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s!

Everyone has a guilty pleasure—for me, it’s definitely baking and eating chocolate chip cookies.

Cooking dinner and everything that goes with it: Grocery shopping, going home and setting the mood with good music, cutting the vegetables - It all seems like a chore, but it comes with amazing side-effects. You really learn to not only appreciate the time for yourself, but also the importance of great, healthy food. I mean, you have to compensate for your chocolate-chip cravings somehow, right?
